As Canada’s leading producer of contemporary Canadian theatre, Alberta Theatre Projects is financed by ticket sales and other earned income (31%), contributions from government (23%), and community support (46%) through corporate sponsorships, foundation partnerships, philanthropic gifts from corporations and individuals, and special events.
The price of a ticket covers only 31% of the cost associated with producing our season. We rely on your generosity to help us raise a portion of the 2.2 million dollars we have to fundraise in order to advance our three pillars of programming: to produce a season of award-winning contemporary theatre, to celebrate creation and innovation through the Enbridge playRites Festival of New Canadian Plays and to support our LEGACY
(Lifelong Education and Growth for Artists, Community and Youth) programs.
While many of the impacts are quantifiable (163,831 patrons have attended Alberta Theatre Projects performances during the last three years) perhaps the greatest impacts are not quantifiable. Alberta Theatre Projects’ work and the arts overall generates enjoyment, lifelong learning opportunities and enhanced ways of living. Our current supporters and your contributions help realize this capacity!
