General requirements:

  • Must be at least 16 years of age or older (special cases are considered)
  • Must be friendly and punctual

Whether your interest is Front of House or special events, whether you are available for one night or throughout the whole season, we are always looking for positive and reliable people to join our team. Below is a listing of all the volunteer positions we have at ATP.

Front of House

While you are in the house, you could be doing a number of different duties including lead volunteer usher, coat check, ushering, lottery booth, feedback forms, special event help and more. It is your focus to ensure that the patrons enjoy their evening in the theatre; take tickets, show people to their seats, provide coverage in case of evacuation and maintain the theatre itself.

Shifts

Volunteer ushers are required as we have a performance on the stage. We have performances Tuesday-Saturday evenings, and Saturday and Sunday matinees. For some shows we also have student matinees. The shift start times are as follows:

Evening: 6:30pm
Weekend matinee: 1:00pm
Student matinee: 10:30am

Special Events

ATP's special events also couple as our fundraisers. Throughout the year, we have 3 main events. The tentative dates and descriptions for our upcoming special events are:

Casino - October 18 & 19, 2011

Ever year, typically in November, ATP hosts a casino. We need all casino positions to be filled by volunteers. These include General Manager, Banker, cashier, chip runner, and countroom. Shifts vary depending on assigned duty.

Lawson Lundell Celebrity Hors d'Oeuvres- Friday, February 24, 2012

Held in February, as Calgary's cheekiest fundraiser, this no-holds-barred hors d'oeuvres competition encourages outrageous tactics and devious schemes. Teams include one of Calgary's finest restaurants paired up with a local celebrity, who compete against the other restaurant/celebrity teams to sell the most succulent hors d'oeuvres. We need volunteers on hand to act as wranglers to help the celebrities sell hors d'oeuvres, auction items and count chits. The following positions are open.

  • Token sales: 5
  • Token Counters: 18
  • Celebrity Wranglers: 15
  • Balloon Sales: 5
  • Personal Assistants: 5
  • Event Wranglers: 3
  • Private Reception Wranglers: 2
  • Coat Check: 5
  • Coat Chack Manager: 1
  • Lottery Sales: 1
  • Shifts are from 8:30pm-12:00am
